I’m back in sunny island Singapore!
YAY!! Bye to books and notes and exams (for now)!! HEHEEE!! Commencement took place yesterday (6th July) at NUS’s UCC. My parents flew in for this special ocassion despite daddy’s busy schedule. They stayed for a short 3D2N at the Swissotel which had an awesome view from the 48th floor.
The plane back from Taiwan was super duper tiring. I’ll blog about it in another post. I flew in a day before my parents to settle some admin stuff then picked them up from the airport on Monday (5th July). Met up with daddy’s friend for dinner before splitting up. The ladies went shopping while my dad headed back to the hotel to rest. Here’re some shots taken at the hotel’s balcony shortly after check-in. I’ve to say that the night view is a lot cooler than the day view.
Then came Tuesday. Daddy left early in the morning to meet his friends while mummy and I went shopping at Orchard. She was going on and on about how she missed the flood hahaha.. we went back to the hotel around 5pm to meet up, get changed. Not forgeting a little camwhore :)
I underestimated the time taken to get to school because I didn’t factor in the traffic at 6pm. Gosh, it was horrendous. Was supposed to reach around 615pm, in the end I arrived at 645pm. We quickly took pictures before the sky turned dark. Sucks to be in the evening slot because there’s hardly anything left to take pictures with given the darkness. Anyhow, Edward was our photographer for the day :) Here’re shots with Engineering School in the background.
Outside UCC :)
More shots. Everyone was fighting to take with “I WAS HERE” so, we had to give it up and make do with a further shot.
Not forgetting some candid shots :) Everyone commented that I was overly tall and giant-fied that day. Haha, I honestly didn’t realise I was that tall.. I think it was the gown that gave that illusion.. HEE!
The ceremony was surprisingly fast. We were all pretty surprised given that the afternoon session ahead dragged way over time. We were all buzzing with excitement and it was one hell of an event! Here’re some shots taken with my dearest MSE batchmates after we’ve sent our parents into the hall first.
And more camwhore followed after the ceremony.
Not forgetting MSE’s group shots! Not everyone is here but we got most peeps in :)
Because it was night time, and most of our flashes aint powerful enough for outdoor shots, as such our “throw-the-hat” shots were all pretty sad. haha we tried nonetheless! :)
And here we’re, MSE graduates 2010 with our hats flying high! :)
Shall end this post with a shot with my dearest parents who have been nurturing and providing for me. For their everlasting support and endless love through all these years. Despite the bulk of our time spent apart, I love them both deeply and here’s a biggg thank you to my loving parents for their selfless giving for the past 24 years. I LOVE YOU DADDY AND MUMMY! :)
Not forgetting the great MSE peeps whom I’ve had a fabulous fabulous time with through the years in NUS. I’ve fostered some great friendships :) We saw each other through endless exams, midterms and LABS (!!), memories for a lifetime. NUS would’ve never been the same without you guys and I’m proud to be a MSE graduate. To every single MSE peep, thank you SO much for making this journey ever so memorable. As a new chapter of life begins, all the best in your future endeavours and God bless :)
Finally!
because you're worth it :)

PHEW! This post is finally up! Been at it for like a month! Friends who have been following my blog for some time will probably notice that I do not stick to a specific brand when it comes to facial/cosmetics and I do not believe that one must use the entire series from the same brand in order to achieve maximum effect. I believe that each brand has its strength so one should tap on the essence of each and not blindly stick to one. I started basic regime after JC (about 19years old?) and it’s been about 5 years (you now know my age haha). I’ve tried most of the common brands we know and I’ve roughly figured out which brand/line works best for me. Nonetheless, I LOVEEE the thrill of discovering and trying new products each semester. But as you girls know, these new products surface faster than you can even barely finish your current ones. There are also a lot of products with similar functionality (it makes no sense to overlap) which is why I do a lot of research before I dive in. There’ll be instances where I use totally different brands for each step of my daily regime and instances where there’re more than 2 products from the same line but never the case where everything is from the same series (in today’s case, I got products from mostly 2 brands, something pretty unusual but purely incidental) . I’ve always tried doing a rough product recommendation at the end or start of each semester but I’ve never really documented them in proper, I thought I could start this time :) This is by means no professional guide but my personal passion which I’d like to share with you guys. Of course I’ve yet to try out the new purchases so this is NOT a product review. The purpose of this post is to share how great a steal I got this time round so that you guys know branded facial/cosmetics doesn’t always cost a bomb :) I did pick out a few main steals that are too good to ignore, take a look!
Because I’ve finally finished using my SKII Facial Treatment Essence which I was HIGHLY impressed with (that 150ml took me centuries to finish), I decided to give the other products from SKII a shot this time round. I started looking for a new sunscreen (keeping in mind not to repeat brands I’ve tried which pretty much ruled out everything ) and that’s when I found the SKII UV Lotion (SPF50 PA+++). When I went further looking for whitening essence and other essentials, that’s when I realise I haven given SKII enough exposure so yes, here I am :)
Not forgetting my brush craze! Haha, it’s barely over.. Here’re some of the lowest prices I’ve ever paid for brushes, they’re my most pleased buys this time round :)
And of course something for the BF who is super anal about the products he uses and you know the thing with men – once they find something they’re happy with, they stick to the same boring shit for the rest of their lives.. In this case, it’s DHC for Edward.
To sum things up, here’s roughly how much the above would’ve cost vs what I paid :) Like I said, after you’ve researched on the products you wanna get, you can then focus on securing the best deals. Always look and second look :) Less than 40% of the original cost, you get everything you need *beams*
This is the first time I’ve actually taken a shot of the products I purchase back from Taiwan. This time round it’s mainly skin care stuff. The previous time I came back with shitloads of makeup stuff on top of the skin care but this is roughly the quantity I deal with every trip home. As you can see, I get a lot of freebies too. They’re kinda annoying cause they take up space and are always left untouch yet I never throw them away -tsk- a problem with girls and storing junks haha :)
I thought I’ll just briefly describe my daily regimes. Just something that works for me, by no means the only nor the best method :)
Day: Lesser steps than at night because you tend to sweat and it’s too hot and torturous to throw on too many things on your face anyway. Basics are lotion->essence/serum->moisturiser->sunblock/sunscreen->makeupbase->loose powder. I’ll keep day time light and simple. Essence/serum are usually moisture replenishing because it’s one thing to control oily skin and another to retain moisture. In another words, just because your skin is oily doesn’t mean it is moisturised, you CAN have oily but dehydrated skin, they’re 2 different things.
Night: Cleansing is SUPER important. NEVER EVER EVERRRR wear make up to sleep and ALWAYS use make up remover if you’ve applied sunscreen/block in the morning (which in my case, it’s everyday). Basics are pre-lotion->lotion->essence->serum->night cream (looks very little but the essence/serum part is the tedious one cause sometimes I apply 2 to 3 different types of essences/serums ie. whitening, refining, moisturising so that easily add up to 6-7steps for the night regimes)
Yupp! So that’s about all for now, those who don’t know, Teepee is returning to Singapore TOMORROW (for Commencement)! Right now I can’t reveal too much but I might be heading back to Taiwan after the ceremony because Daddy is getting admitted on the 9th of July and we’re unsure when exactly will he be discharged. Graduation trip will have to be on hold until his condition stablises, if need be, I might have to stay put in Taiwan for a while. We’ll see how things go, please pray for daddy dearest :)

Hey guys, I know I’ve been away for a long time. There’re a lot of things going on in the house right now. For the past few weeks it’s been a mad rush to book air tickets and hotel for my parents to Singapore, as said, it’s a true battle cause everything is sold out and we have been trying (still am) our best to fight for the best possible flights (early arrival and late departure). Then it’s been a lot of hospital visits, details of which I can’t disclose but please pray for dearest daddy’s health. A few family outings and several family dinners (my sister drops by like 4times a week). Late night movie with the ladies in the house (I’ve to say that S&C2 sucks to the core, a total disappointment). And we finally got a break today so mum and I went shopping. As said, I’ve been waiting to share good steals with you guys. I’ve been doing so much research and reading, I’m spoilt for choice so I ended up wasting half my time deciding which to get. I’ve gotten most stuff settled, waiting for 3 more parcels and contemplating on getting the last item. Rest assured you guys will get a post on it. I’m bursting with excitement to share the newbie in my make up collection – NARS’s Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. This product was launched early this month (1st June if I’m not wrong), it was an instant hit! Let us first take a look at this new gem…
So what is so amazing about this product? Well, I’m sure as girls, we face some common problems when it comes to wearing eye makeup.
1) The colour never shows up as intensely as you thought it would (Sometimes one has to fork out the extra $$ to get quality, intense colour)
2) You’ve problem applying your eyeliner, somehow the colour doesn’t show up on your lids despite drawing over the same line a couple of times
3) Your lids grease/sweat so your eyeshadow or eyeliner smudges as the day proceeds (despite the product claiming to be waterproof or smudge proof)
4) Your eyeshadow or eyeliner cakes at your lids’ folds, creating creases
5) The intensity of your eyeshadow/eyeliner wears off after a few hours (becomes lighter in colour)
If you’ve any of the above problems (or ALL of the above, lol!!) this product is your perfect solution! Tried and tested, this shadow base does create an ideal canvas for you to apply your eye make up on. It prevents greasing as the day proceeds and keeps colours lasting longer and fresher without smudging! The unique polymer and mineral powder blend allows a good/firm grip on powders/cream products, intensifying the product’s colour! It is said to be able to turn ANY eyeshadow (including those $1 ones you get from mama shops) to something that is wearable!
Because Teepee ain’t too good with description writing, here’s what the official site NARS says about this product: Fortified with a special deep-sea and antioxidant rice extracts, the Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base dries on contact and keeps the delicate eyelid smooth and prepared for color application.
It is also a great multi-tasker. Use it as a primer for eyeshadow pencils and lower lash-liners, consider it as an everyday essential!
To better illustrate its performance, here’s what I did for you guys. I first applied the base on the bottom portion of my hand, notice the base is in a white cream foam. It dries really quickly and the texture of the area you’ve applied feels smooth and silky.
Now let’s take a look at the results. I tried both light and dark colours, brown and light maroon eyeshadows (the light maroon might be a little hard to see cause it’s too close a shade to my skin tone). I couldn’t quite decide to post the flash or without flash version so I included both. As you can see, the sides without the base are a lot paler and lighter in comparison to the sides with the base. The colour shows up much better when the base is applied. Also, I realise that the eyeshadow doesn’t fall all over when you swipe it across. You know how sometimes when we apply eyeshadow and it just falls all over our cheeks? Esp so for those with glitters in them? When I tried it with the base, I realise that the formula is really capable of gripping the products applied firmly. In another words, while some eyeshadow used to fall all over your cheek in the past, with this base, everything gets right onto your eye from the first swipe! This means you now need lesser products to achieve the same colour intensity too!
I highly highly HIGHLLLY recommend all girls to get this. An absolute essential truly. It’s a very worthwhile investment. Sephora online sells it for $24USD (about $36SGD) for a 0.26oz, I got mine for $36SGD for 0.28oz. I’m not too sure how much Singapore will be selling it for but if it’s overpriced you can always order from Sephora US online :) Alrighty, I’m off to bed, it’s almost 4am! Nights!
*screammmmssss*
HOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!
Here’s my latest addiction. I’d say its a mix of Taiwan/Korean style drama. It’s been a while since a (chinese) show caught my attention after watching just 1 episode! And one of the lead male actor is the guy from IpMan2!!!! I thought he was really good looking when I saw him in IpMan2 so I was pretty thrilled to find him starring in Summer’s Desire. The leading actress is Barbie Hsu, 2 male leads – Peter Ho & Huang Xiao Ming.
This drama is adapted from popular romance novel 泡沫之夏 by Ming Xiao Xi, interestingly, this is Peter Ho’s first attempt as a producer, I’d say so far he has done a pretty good job!
More of the good looking male leads. Xiao Ming as Luo Xi really makes you cringe in a strange way. Instead of the typical one sided romance story where the uber rich heir fell for an ordinary girl with a poor family background then there’s the other male who is not so well off but stayed by the girl’s side and cared for her the whole time. This drama is a battle between the super rich heir and a top super star. If it’s you and you’re to choose, would you go for the uber rich heir who is possessive as hell or would you go for the most wanted superstar (who also happens to be uber rich)? LOL!!
Addicted. The story is soo heavy (not the comedy type), makes one cringe non-stop. DEARIEEEE!!! must watch k! :)
